Cornell Law’s Briggs Society of International Law, formally known as the Herbert W. Briggs Society of International Law, is named in honor of Cornell University and Cornell Law professor Herbert W. Briggs. Mr. Briggs was a distinguished editor, lawyer, scholar, and educator in the international legal community.
As an organization, we promote student awareness and interest in current and developing issues within the international and comparative legal field. The Briggs society works to hold events, such as guest speakers, to discuss specific events with international legal implications, help coordinate international moot court competitions, and introduce students to possible careers concerning international law.
